Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide 2006 Edition (Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide)

Product Description

The Official Vintage Guitar Price Guide has a 15-year tradition of being the most accurate, authoritative, and detailed publication to tackle the seemingly impossible task of placing values on thousands of vintage and recent-model guitars, amps, basses, effects pedals, mandolins, lapsteels, ukuleles, and new this year, banjos. Plus, the VG Price Guide is the only one to do it all in one book! Authors Alan Greenwood and Gil Hembree have again expanded their ultimate price guide to 480 pages, featuring histories, details, and values on over 1,300 brands, with 1,000 photos of all forms of vintage instruments, amps, and effects. Published by Vintage Guitar magazine, The VG Price Guide combines thorough research with its user-friendly format, employing quick-find page headings, page-edge tabs, a comprehensive index, and a dealer directory that puts you just an e-mail or phone call away from guitar buyers and sellers in every region of the country. Also included is an in-depth look at the collectible instrument market, explaining the "hows and whys" in regard to the values of vintage and used equipment.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing!, April 10, 2006
This review is from: Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide 2006 Edition (Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide) (Paperback)
The first 3 out of 5 guitars I searched for were not listed. Missing certain models of Kay, Dean, Silvertone to mention a few. When I looked for a model of Martin, that model was missing also. I found all of the models in a different price guide. And yes, all of the missing models are vintage.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of info, February 23, 2006
This review is from: Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide 2006 Edition (Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide) (Paperback)
This is an indispensable reference for guitar collectors. That said, it is not perfect, only one tool for basing values. Ebay is the value setter for any collectable since it encompasses a worldwide market. This edition did not accurately reflect the increase in values for some Fender products, for example. Overall, it has a lot of good info on an amazing variety of popular and obscure guitars, basses, amps and effects.

5.0 out of 5 stars Prices are offered for those in excellent condition by 'low' and 'high' prices & are arranged by maker for quick & easy location, January 10, 2006

Vintage Guitar Magazine has been the source for pricing thousands of guitars over the decades, and this expanded 2006 edition of Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide 2005: The Only Complete Guide provides the latest details. Prices are offered for those in excellent condition by 'low' and 'high' prices and are arranged by maker for quick and easy location. Small black and white photos of guitars appear on every page; but it's the values, notes and company histories which make this price guide so invaluable.
